We are delighted to introduce you to our next Microlot Series: Mururi
Background story
A young man named Simon is bringing back his family’s coffee farm to life.
The 3-hectare farm was once full of coffee trees, but years ago, Simon’s parents cut most of them down. The prices were too low, and farming could no longer support the family.
After studying agribusiness, Simon came back home with a dream—to save the farm.
He started by clearing the land and planting new coffee trees like SL28 and Ruiru 11. He also used better farming methods like mulching, composting, and good pruning.
Simon’s first harvest was small, but the coffee was very good. Now, the farm is growing again, and other young people in the village are watching and learning from him.
Simon is not just farming—he is giving hope to his family and his community.
