We are delighted to introduce you to our next Microlot Series: Riverhut
When coffee ceased to yield, Simon's parents cut down the trees to survive. The farm was abandoned; the dream seemed over.
But Simon returned—with knowledge, courage, and a plan. He replanted with SL28 and Ruiru 11, improved the soil, worked sustainably, and processed every berry with care.
He risked everything to deliver top quality. What his parents had to give up, he rebuilt.
Today, the entire community looks up to him. Simon isn't just a farmer—he's a role model.
At Simon's reborn farm in Kirinyaga, only the ripest cherries are handpicked and processed with care. Some are naturally dried for a full, fruity flavor; the rest are washed for a pure, balanced cup.
The coffee is grown in volcanic soil, using sustainable techniques like compost and mulching—a taste you'll taste in the vibrancy of every sip.
What Makes It Special
The varieties used, SL28 and Ruiru 11, are known for their rich body, crisp acidity, and notes of red fruit and citrus. Together, they create a coffee that is both complex and approachable—just as Simon intended.
This coffee surprises with notes of dried fruit and caramel, rounded out with a soft brown sugar finish and a silky texture. A cup that not only tastes, but feels—warm, round, and layered.
You have to taste it to believe it.
