Background Story
KiQwetu Coffee Estate is a remarkable organic coffee farm nestled in Kericho and one of only a few organically certified farms in Kenya. They were recently certified by Eco-cert SA, one of the best known organic certifying bodies in the world.
KiQwetu is situated on a rehabilitated piece of land that was once a quarry. This 25-acre estate has quickly gained recognition for its commitment to land reclamation and organic farming practices.
KiQwetu is inspired by the Swahili word “Kikwetu,” which translates to “our home” or “our heritage.” This name embodies their strong ties to local culture and community, while also highlighting the distinctive approach they bring to their coffee farm and mission.
With its establishment in 2022, KiQwetu Coffee Estate is eagerly anticipating its first harvest this year, showcasing its dedication and passion for producing high-quality organic Kenyan coffee.
