How can businesses do more to help address society's biggest and complex problems like global poverty, food security and climate change?

We believe growing a B Corp movement can broaden the conversation in Ireland about our solutions to these issues and show how businesses - of any size - can have a measurable impact.

To that end, next month we're co-hosting an event with Patagonia, Urban Volt and B Corp Ireland

Building a B Corp Movement in Ireland

Monday 14th October

6.30pm - 9.00pm

Patagonia, Exchequer St., Dublin 2.

Event Details

This event is for anyone interested in learning about creating a more inclusive economy or getting practical advice for their business on becoming a B Corp.

We'll walk through what the B Corp certification is, how it can benefit your business and how we can work together to create a business community as a force for good.

We're delighted the event will be moderated by Chris Gordon from B Corp Ireland. The panelists who will share their stories of social impact and take part on a discussion at the end include Edel Kennedy from UrbanVolt, Christian Volkmann from Patagonia and Shane Reilly from Moyee Coffee Ireland & UK.

Our partners in the Netherlands have been a pioneering B Corp since 2014 - you can read their full B Impact Report here - and were just announced as Best for the World 2019 honorees this week at the B Summit in Amsterdam.

Certified B Corporations are businesses that meet the highest standards of verified social and environmental performance, public transparency, and legal accountability to balance profit and purpose. B Corps are accelerating a global culture shift to redefine success in business and build a more inclusive and sustainable economy.

Society’s most challenging problems cannot be solved by government and nonprofits alone. By harnessing the power of business, B Corps use profits and growth as a means to a greater end: positive impact for their employees, communities, and the environment. The B Corp community works toward reduced inequality, lower levels of poverty, a healthier environment, stronger communities, and the creation of more high quality jobs with dignity and purpose.
